What We Do

Free, Expert OWCP Claims Assistance — Every Form, Every Step

The OWCP system is complex and unforgiving. One missed deadline or incorrect form can derail a legitimate claim. Our team handles the paperwork so you can focus on getting better.

CA-1, CA-2 & All OWCP Forms

We complete and review every form correctly the first time — CA-1 (traumatic injury), CA-2 (occupational disease), CA-7 (wage loss), CA-16 (auth for treatment), CA-17, CA-20, OWCP-957 mileage reimbursement, and more.

Excellent Care from Federal Comp Experts

Our certified DOL doctors specialize in treating federal workers. Real medical care from clinicians who understand FECA, federal duty restrictions, and what your agency needs to see in the documentation.

COP, Wage Loss & Compensation

We help you secure the full 45 days of Continuation of Pay, build the case for wage loss compensation, schedule awards, and every other dollar you're entitled to under federal law.

Claim Reviews & Appeals

Was your claim denied or controverted? Bring us your file. We'll review every line, identify what's missing, and help you build a strong reconsideration or appeal package to OWCP.

Mileage Reimbursement

Driving to medical appointments adds up. We help you file OWCP-957 forms so every mile traveled for authorized care is reimbursed — money back in your pocket.

Friendly, Helpful Staff

You're not a number here. Our team treats every federal worker with respect, answers every question, and stays with you from your first visit through final case resolution.

Federal Workers' Rights

You Have the Right to Choose Your Own Treating Doctor.

Under federal law, injured federal employees can select their own physician. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Choose a certified DOL doctor — a fed comp expert who understands how to document, treat, and protect your claim.

  • 01

    Your Choice of Physician

FECA gives you the right to pick your own treating doctor. You don't have to go where your agency or supervisor sends you.

  • 02

Up to 45 Days of Continuation of Pay (COP)

For traumatic injuries, your full salary keeps coming for up to 45 calendar days. We help you secure every day you're entitled to.

  • 03

Full Medical Coverage — Always Billed to DOL-OWCP

Your visits, imaging, therapy, surgery, and follow-up care are billed directly to the Department of Labor. Nothing comes out of your pocket.

  • 04

Compensation for Wage Loss & Permanent Impairment

Beyond medical care, FECA provides wage loss benefits, schedule awards for permanent impairment, and vocational rehabilitation when needed.

Why Federal Workers Choose Us

The Expertise of a Specialist. The Care of a Neighbor.

Federal Injury Centers of Utah was built around one mission: making sure injured federal workers get the medical care, paperwork support, and compensation they're owed under FECA. We are not a general practice that "also does workers' comp." Federal worker care is what we do, every day.

  • DOL-Certified Physicians, Federal Comp Experts

Doctors who know FECA inside and out — and who write the kind of detailed medical reports OWCP claims examiners need to see.

  • End-to-End Claim Assistance — At No Cost

From your first form to your final approval. CA-1, CA-2, CA-7, OWCP-957 mileage, appeals — we handle it. You focus on healing.

  • Direct Billing to DOL-OWCP

You will never receive a bill for authorized treatment. Federal law protects you, and so do we.

  • Friendly, Patient-First Care

You're treated with the respect a public servant deserves. We answer every question — about your claim, your care, your benefits — until it makes sense.

"

After 22 years carrying mail, my back finally gave out. I didn't know where to start with the claim. Federal Injury Centers handled my paperwork, got me to the right doctor, and made sure I received every day of COP I was owed. I can't recommend them enough.

Common Questions

Answers for Injured Federal Workers

Short, straight answers to the questions we hear every day. Have one we didn't cover? Ask us in the claim review form below.

Will I pay anything out of pocket?
No. All authorized care related to your accepted federal injury claim is billed directly to the Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (DOL-OWCP). You should never receive a bill from us for covered treatment.
Do I really get to choose my own doctor?
Yes. Under FECA, injured federal employees have the right to select their own treating physician. You are not required to see a doctor chosen by your supervisor or agency. Choosing a DOL-certified federal comp expert protects your claim and your health.
What is Continuation of Pay (COP) — and how do I get it?
For traumatic injuries (filed on a CA-1), federal employees are entitled to up to 45 calendar days of full regular pay while recovering from a work-related injury. To claim COP, the CA-1 must be filed within 30 days of injury and medical evidence must support disability. We help ensure your paperwork supports your full COP entitlement.
My claim was denied. Is there anything you can do?
Often, yes. Denials and controverted claims frequently come down to missing or weak medical documentation. We review your case, identify what OWCP needs, and help build a reconsideration or appeal — including stronger physician narratives, additional medical evidence, and proper forms.
I'm a postal worker (USPS). Do you handle my type of injuries?
Absolutely. USPS workers are one of our largest patient populations. We treat the full range of postal injuries — back injuries from lifting, knee and shoulder injuries from years of carrying, repetitive stress, dog bites, motor vehicle injuries, slip-and-falls, and occupational disease claims.
What about my mileage to appointments?
Federal workers are entitled to reimbursement for mileage traveled to authorized medical appointments via OWCP form 957. We help you file these forms accurately so you get every dollar back.
What does the free claim review cover?
An experienced team member will review your injury, your current claim status, any forms already filed, and the documentation in your case file. We'll explain what FECA entitles you to, identify gaps or risks in your current claim, and outline exactly what to do next. There is no cost and no obligation.
